West Michigan Sentinels Name Geoff White as Head Coach
GRAND RAPIDS, MI –Veteran Leader and Former Junior Player to Guide Sentinels Into New Era
The West Michigan Sentinels of the American Premier Hockey League (APHL) are proud to announce the hiring of Geoff White as the team’s new head coach ahead of the upcoming season.
White, a former junior hockey player and longtime high school coach, brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a passion for player development to the Sentinels bench. His unique combination of hockey knowledge and military service sets the tone for a new chapter in West Michigan hockey.
“Geoff’s passion for the game is contagious, and we’re thrilled to have him at the helm,” said the Sentinels’ General Manager. “He’s a player-centric coach who understands the importance of developing the whole athlete. We’re confident that he’ll lead our team to great things.”
White’s playing experience at the junior level has given him firsthand insight into the demands and opportunities that come with developmental hockey. As a coach, he’s spent several years behind the bench at the high school level, earning a reputation for his ability to connect with young athletes and help them realize their potential both on and off the ice.
His coaching philosophy centers on hard work, discipline, and accountability—all values he honed during his 18-year career in the United States Air Force. A decorated veteran, White’s military background brings an added layer of leadership and integrity to the Sentinels’ program.
“Geoff understands what it takes to build a culture of resilience, respect, and camaraderie,” said Andrew Dibble, APHL Director of Marketing and Community Engagement. “His commitment to mentorship and development fits perfectly with what the APHL stands for—giving athletes the chance to grow, compete, and succeed at the next level.”
The West Michigan Sentinels and the APHL welcome Coach White and look forward to an exciting season ahead as the team begins this new chapter with strong leadership and fresh energy.
